Your images and tool inputs
Images you choose, drop or paste into the thumbnail tester are processed in your browser. The tool does not upload your images or entered video details to our servers. Preview downloads are generated locally. The tool does not intentionally save those inputs in cookies or browser local storage; reloading the page clears the tool state.
YouTube thumbnail downloader
When you submit a public YouTube video URL or ID to the downloader, your browser requests thumbnail images directly from YouTube's image host to find the sizes that are available for that video. We do not proxy or store the video URL, video ID, or image. If you choose “Open in thumbnail tester,” the public video ID and selected size are held in browser session storage only long enough to pass the image to the tester, then removed. They are not sent as Analytics events.
Website delivery
This website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Visiting the website sends normal web request information, such as your IP address, browser information and requested URL, to Cloudflare so it can deliver and protect the site. Local image processing does not mean that visiting this website makes no network requests. See Cloudflare's privacy policy for its processing practices.
Analytics, advertising and cookies
We use Google Analytics 4 to measure basic website use, including page views, approximate location, browser and device information, and how visitors arrive at the site. Google Analytics may use first-party cookies such as _ga to distinguish visitors and sessions. We also record three anonymous interaction counts: image_loaded after a local or selected public image loads into the tester, preview_exported after a local preview PNG export starts, and downloader_result_found after the downloader finds at least one public image size. These events contain no image, title, channel name, video URL, video ID, selected size, or entered-text parameter.
Google describes how it uses data from sites and apps that use its services at How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services. We do not use Google Analytics advertising features or enhanced measurement on this site. Where consent is required by applicable law, we will provide the required consent controls before analytics storage is enabled.
We have not added third-party advertising scripts. Before enabling advertising, we will update this policy to identify providers, explain their data use, and introduce any required consent controls.
Contact messages
If you contact us using a method published on our contact page, your email provider and our email service providers will process the message. We use contact information and message content to respond and investigate issues. Do not send passwords, payment details or images you do not wish to share. Contact messages are separate from the locally processed thumbnail images.
